My fiance’s and I friends visited from Texas about a month ago and while they were in town they wanted to make sure they booked a session with me to get some photos done. We have been wanting to take photos since they first got together a few years ago. So, finally the anticipated session with Josh and Kaitlin.
I spent an entire day with Ali, My Fiance (assistant for the day), and Erin (makeup and hair) up highway 74 towards Anza. We found an abandonded house hat we hiked too, pulled off to the side of the road and stopped at Vista Point looking over the Coachella Valley for sunset. this day was amazing and so much fun. I experimented with some new things and took a little change. I’d love to know how everyone feels about this shoot. Thank you so much girls for putting up with me all day and making a wonderful session.
I have grown up with Austin up at Lake Havasu and when I was asked to do his senior portraits I was honored. There were two parts to his photo session. We started out up at Havasu and took some photos of him in his riding gear and riding his motorcycle. After a few weeks passed I then met up with him and his family in Mission Viejo where we finished his senior portraits. We had so much fun taking his photos and celebrating his graduatuon. Once we finished his photos we all got to take a trip to Disneyland. Overall it was a good session and here are some photos from his photo session.
I had the pleasure of being able to work with three lovely ladies down in San Diego. It was a quick little shoot but it was quite fun. It was a great chance to meet two new women. These girls are a joy to work with and hopefully I’ll get to work with them again sometime. Thank you Brittney, Jessica, and Christina!! Here are some images from their shoot.
As you know, I have been putting together a maternity/newborn project for the past few months and this new mommy is part of it. This post consists of a few photos from her maternity session and a few from Aiden’s newborn session. This little guy is too sweet and was wide awake. Thank you for being so patient and allowing me to capture this special moment if your lives. Keep a look out for my final project coming in about a week!
I would like to give a big congratulations to Stacey and Nick Diehl on their recent marriage! This wedding was so fun and I was surrounded by some amazing people that just loved to have a good time. I know Stacey has been anxiously waiting for some photos of her wedding so here they are. I hope you enjoy them. Congratulations you two!

I am currently in the process of creating a video bio for my website. This will help clients see what is like to work with me as a photographer. This video is showing the process of how I shoot and how fun a photo session can truly be. Of course to show you I have to actually be shooting. The lovely Marjorie Paiyarat modeled for me and we had a great time shooting this. Here are a few photos I captured while shooting the video. Stay tuned for the video coming soon.

I got the pleasure to have Lacy, Devin and their son, Kaleb come to Santa Barbara to shoot with me two weeks ago. We got to take some family photos for them and had a special event for the photo session. On March 25th 2012 Kaleb turned one year old! Happy Birthday Kaleb! This little boy was such a joy to work, filled with so much personality. It was great to work with the family and look forward to working with them again soon when their newest addition to the family arrives! Here are a few photos from the session.
I have recently needed some new photos of myself, for multiple reasons. The biggest reason was for my bio page. I had an amazing photographer and friend, Lilly Rosenthal Photography take my photographs. I am so happy with the way they turned out! I’m not the kind of person who is normally comfortable in front of the camera, I feel awkward. I love Lilly’s style and think at times it can be similar to mine, even though they are both completely different. Lilly took control well and I told her that I trusted her to do whatever she would like, I knew they would turn out great no matter what because she has so much talent. Lilly did an amazing job at capturing my essence and who I am as a person. Thank you so much Lilly! Below are a few of the photos she took and you can also see them on my “About” page here on my blog and on my website. Make sure to check out Lilly Rosenthal Photography as well!
Leave a comment below and let me know which photo you think should be my new bio photo! Thanks!
On January 21, 2012, Chrissy Winchester gave birth to her second child a beautiful little boy named Derek Donald Winchester, who actually happens to be my tenth cousin on my mother’s side of the family.
I love having a huge family and I am proud to announce that our family is even getting bigger then with adding Derek to the mix, I am going to become an aunt. My sister announced a little over a month ago that she is pregnant and we will soon be adding a new little boy or girl to this crazy family of ours. Make sure you keep a look out for her maternity, newborn, and family portraits this summer.
Back to the Winchester family, on January 27, 2008, Chrissy Winchester gave birth to her first child, Allison Reese Winchester. Allison or Alli for short, is now a proud big sister. As a toddler you can never predict what they will do and Chrissy had asked me that besides just photographing Derek by himself she asked if I could take some of the two kids together. Being a portrait photographer I am always shooting my own family as well. When you have as big of a family as I do you use that to your advantage. Alli is comfortable around me and as a normal toddler your around they will not listen to you every minute of the day. As we were shooting Alli was by her mother’s side the entire time anxious to pose with her new brother. Once it became her time she decided she no longer wanted photos taken of her and began to fuss and not listen. Luckily I got a few photos of them togehter. Next time I have a toddler and a newborn I will make sure I do the sibling/family photos first. Of course the newborn will likely go back to sleep.
Overall it was a great experience, I love photographing newborns and children no matter how hard it can be at times. Make sure you follow along and watch both Derek and Allison grow older. Here are some photos from the session.
